| Spanish abstract | La obra cinematográfica del director Carlos Velo (1966) hace referencia al mismo título Pedro Páramo del escritor Juan Rulfo (1955), y descodifica la significación de la obra precedente, donde es muy difícil diferenciar la vida y la muerte. Por supuesto el director incorpora algunos de los elementos que definen la concepción del nuevo fantástico, según la corriente multidisciplinar desarrollada por distintos exponentes teóricos. De igual manera, se presta especial atención al tratamiento del tiempo presente, continuum temporalis, y pasado, non continuum temporalis, así como a los elementos relativos al recuerdo y a la memoria que remiten a las historias pasadas de la vida de los personajes en la película de Velo. |
| English abstract | The cinematographic work of the director Carlos Velo (1966) refers to the text of the same title, Pedro Páramo, of the writer Juan Rulfo (1955). Velo’s film decodes the meaning of the preceding work, where it is very difficult to differentiate between life and death. In order to achieve this, the director incorporates some of the elements that define the conception of the new «fantastic», according to the multidisciplinary current developed in different theoretical approaches. Similarly, special attention is paid to the treatment of the present, continuum temporalis, and the past, non continuum temporalis, as well as to elements related to memory that refer to the past histories of the characters’ lives in Velo’s film. |
