Resumen en inglés | The study certain historical periods postpones not only life, but also death. The Baroque period is one of these. A study of the topic of death in Chile during the Baroque period shows that the last will was a major element, for its qualitative as well as quantitative importance, because with a last will, a person presented himself as such when faced with death aand took reponsabiblity for his past life and his posthhemous destiny, The Baroque last will was not a legal formula nor an economic arrangement, but a plous and autobiographical document tied to history and interwined with literature, expressiing the individual self |
