| English abstract | The presence of zinc has been noticed in different areas of the central nervous system, and, in the auditory system, cochlear nuclei. Its physiological role has not yet been fully described. AIM: This work has as main goals: to study the anatomic distribution of zinc. STUDY DESIGN: Experimental. MATERIAL AND METHOD: By means of histochemistry, and to compare it with the morphological features observed by using Nissl-staining methods, in cochlear nuclei. The subjects were adults rats. They were sacrificed by intracardiac perfusion, following a protocol for zinc histochemistry. The cochlear nuclei were studied by light microscopy. RESULTS: The authors describe the differenciated distribution of zinc among dorsal and ventral cochlear nuclei. CONCLUSION: They concluded that this feature has a relationship with the physiological differentiation of them |
| Portuguese abstract | A presença do íon zinco tem sido descrita em algumas diferentes regiões do sistema nervoso central e, dentro do sistema auditivo, nos núcleos cocleares. Seu papel fisiológico ainda não é totalmente compreendido. OBJETIVO: O presente trabalho teve como objetivo o estudo da distribuição anatômica da marcação para zinco. FORMA DE ESTUDO: Experimental. MATERIAL E MÉTODO: Mediante o uso de técnica histoquímica, comparando-a com os padrões anatômicos e citoarquitetônicos normais evidenciados com a coloração de Nissl, em núcleos cocleares. Foram estudados ratos adultos, sacrificados por perfusão intracardíaca e submetidos à histoquímica de Neo-Timm, a qual evidencia zinco nos tecidos. Os núcleos cocleares foram estudados à microscopia ótica. RESULTADO: Os autores descrevem a distribuição diferenciada do íon segundo os subnúcleos dorsal e ventral. CONCLUSÃO: Concluem que esta característica certamente tem uma íntima relação com a diferenciação fisiológica destes |
