| English abstract | The purpose of this article is to analyze the presence of o rtega y Gasset in the Parana’s s tate group during the 1950s, especially his influence in the thinking of Wilson Martins, and to emphasize the debate on the ideas of the intellectual and the university. t he article discusses about the contributions of this Parana’s thinker on the Parana’s university teaching constituting and organizing process, and emphasizes that the Wilson Martins’ role consisted in promoting the debate on the presence of the intellectual person in modern society, attributing the mission as guardian of the moral and herald of cultural renovation, without forgetting the Brazilian and European political-cultural context as the founding background to higher education. i t bases itself on the speech entitled “ t he rebellion against intelligence and the mission of the university”, that occurred at the u niversity of Parana in 1951, and on the work The History of Brazilian Intelligence , written by Wilson Martins |
| Portuguese abstract | Este artigo visa analisar a presença de o rtega y Gasset entre o grupo paranaense na década de 1950, particularmente sua pre - sença no pensamento de Wilson Martins, privilegiando o debate em torno das ideias de intelectual e de universidade. d iscorre sobre a contribuição desse pensador paranaense no processo de constituição e organização do ensino superior no Paraná e enfatiza que o seu papel consistiu em promover o debate sobre a presença do intelectual na sociedade moderna, atribuindo-lhe a missão de guardião da moral e arauto da renovação cultural, sem esquecer o contexto político-cultural do Brasil e da Europa como pano de fundo da criação do ensino superior.
