| English abstract | This article tries to show that the historical sedimentation of one coherent speech, wants about the pedagogical scientific statute, wants about the objectives of modern educative act, would be equally discussed in the general chart of moral secularization and the expansion of political essence of self- government. Therefore in itself defend that one deductive formation from pedagogical nature took over in the end of XIX century the centralization of ethical material, assimilating it on the axiom of illuminist-humanistic power that refer us about the civic behavior of citizens should result from the obligations and decisions of private environment of your conscience. | Portuguese abstract | Este artigo procura mostrar que a sedimentação histórica de um discurso coerente, quer sobre o estatuto científico da pedagogia, quer sobre os fins do ato educativo moderno, pode ser igualmente discutida no quadro geral da secularização da moral e da expansão do princípio político do self-government. Para tanto nele se defende que uma formação discursiva de caráter pedagógico assumiu em finais do século XIX a centralidade do material ético, assimilando-o ao axioma do poder iluminista-humanista em que o comportamento cívico do cidadão deve decorrer dos compromissos e decisões da esfera privada da sua consciência.
