| English abstract | In the 21st century, we can find practices of folk healing, which points to a wide field linked to cultural heritage and to how different subjects and social groups experience certain harms. In this sense, this research is dedicated to analyzing, through the time frame between the years 2000 and 2020, the permanence, the uses in everyday life, and how some diseases are treated in the practice of blessing in the municipality of Caldas, located in the south of Minas Gerais. Under the assumptions of oral history, the present work focuses on oral sources through three interviews carried out, through fieldwork, with two faith healers and a faith healer from that municipality. |
| Portuguese abstract | Em pleno século XXI, podemos encontrar práticas da cura popular que sinalizam para um amplo campo ligado às heranças culturais e a como variados sujeitos e grupos sociais experienciam determinados malefícios. Nesse sentido, essa pesquisa se dedica a analisar, por meio do recorte temporal entre os anos de 2000 e 2020, a permanência, os usos no cotidiano e como algumas doenças são tratadas na prática do benzimento no município de Caldas, situado no sul de Minas Gerais. Sob os pressupostos da história oral, o presente trabalho se concentra nas fontes orais através de três entrevistas realizadas, por meio do trabalho de campo, com duas benzedeiras e um benzedeiro do referido município. |
