| Spanish abstract | El tumor odontogénico queratinizante es un quiste derivado de los remanentes de la lámina dental. Se encuentra dentro de los más reconocidos por su potencial agresivo y destructivo, erosionando las placas corticales y tejidos blandos, con un mayor porcentaje de recidiva dentro de los tumores odontogénicos. Se presenta caso clínico de tumor odontogénico queratinizante en la rama de la mandíbula del lado derecho; previamente toma de biopsia incisional, se realiza enucleación quirúrgica con colocación de solución de Carnoy. Se realiza estudio histopatológico, el cual confirma el diagnóstico. Se llevaron a cabo un control clínico y uno radiográfico posteriores a su tratamiento quirúrgico |
| English abstract | The odontogenic keratocystic tumor is a cyst that develops from the remains of the dental lamina. It is one of the most notorious tumors due to its aggressive and destructive potential, and the way it erodes the cortical plates and soft tissues. It also displays one of the highest rates of recurrence of any odontogenic tumor. We present a clinical case of an odontogenic keratocystic tumor located on the right side of the mandibular ramus. Following incisional biopsy, surgical enucleation was performed with the application of Carnoy solution. Histopathological analysis confi rmed the diagnosis. Clinical and X-ray assessments were performed during the postoperative phase |
