| Spanish abstract | En junio de 1923 Política salió a las calles porteñas. La revista, opositora al gobierno radical, sostuvo miras “renovadoras” y fue dirigida por dos jóvenes con inquietudes literarias y una larga militancia demoprogresista: Alfonso de Laferrère y Julio Noé. Los vínculos con el Partido Demócrata Progresista no terminaron allí, en tanto la publicación contó con la colaboración de figuras destacadas como Carlos Ibarguren y Lisandro de la Torre. Estos notables aportes y la cuidada edición no impidieron el fracaso de la empresa, menos de un año después. Su desafío a la “tregua alvearista” y su crítica del sistema político argentino -afines al liberalismo y el reformismo- cayeron en un virtual olvido. No obstante, la publicación fue recuperada por autores vinculados al nacionalismo de derechas, quienes la celebraron como pionera de las “nuevas ideas”. ¿Era Política una hoja del demoprogresismo, o se trataba en cambio de una antecesora de La Nueva República? Para responder este y otros interrogantes, este artículo recorre la trayectoria de Política prestando especial atención a la recepción de las derechas europeas. Siguiendo particularmente al “maurrasiano ortodoxo” Laferrère, se observarán los vínculos y tensiones existentes entre los discursos liberal, democrático y nacionalista a principios de los años veinte |
| English abstract | In June 1923 Política hit the streets of Buenos Aires. The journal, opposed to the Radical administration and with “renovating” aims, was run by two young men with literary interests and a long-standing Demo-progressive partisanship: Alfonso de Laferrère and Julio Noé. The ties with the DPP did not end there, as this publication featured pieces from notable party characters such as Carlos Ibarguren and Lisandro de la Torre. This noteworthy contributors did not stop the demise of this endeavor, which took place less than a year later. Its defiance of the “Alvearist truce” and its critique of the Argentinean political system, close to Liberalism and Reformism, were mostly forgotten. Nonetheless, authors related to rightwing Nationalism exalted Política as a harbinger of the “new ideas”. Was this journal a Demo-progressive publication, or was it a forerunner of La Nueva República? To answer this and other questions, this article will explore the short life of Política paying close attention and to the reception of European right-wing ideas. Following the “orthodox Maurrasian” Laferrère, this essay will scrutinize the links and tensions between Liberal, Democratic and Nationalist discourses in the early 1920s |
