| English abstract | School failure nowadays challenges psychoanalysts and educators who try to explain its logic. Difficulties in detecting the etiology/ ies of school failure reside in locating them: in the student, teacher, school, method or educational policy. This leads to the possibility of demonstrating its operation through the logic of undecidability. Considering the impossibility of finding the whole truth about its causes, by locating them here and there, we point out a bet, make a choice. The etiology of school failure, due to its undecidable nature, will always be related to a determined educational contingency. Therefore, this article attempts to treat the tension the child undergoes under the pressure of the social tissue – family, school and state – with its political/ethical parameters enforced by teachers and principals. Following this trend and Lacan’s later version on that symptom, we propose that school failure today, ceaselessly making its record through symptomatic repetition, is produced in the gap of the undecidable space between the real impossible and the traumatic encounter – ‘an unlucky encounter’ – with the Other in education |
| Portuguese abstract | O fracasso escolar desafia psicanalistas e educadores que tentam dizer algo sobre a lógica de seu funcionamento. As dificuldades em precisar as suas causas, em localizá-lo no aluno, no professor, na escola, no método ou na política educacional sugerem que ele funciona na lógica do indecidível. Se não se tem acesso a toda a verdade sobre a etiologia desse fracasso, ao localizá-lo aqui ou ali, há uma aposta, uma escolha: que ela, sendo indecidível, estará sempre atrelada a uma determinada contingência educacional. Neste artigo, a tensão sofrida pela criança diante da demanda do tecido social – família, escola e Estado –, com seus parâmetros políticos e éticos, é tratada por meio da figura do professor e do diretor da escola. Seguindo essa vertente e a última versão sobre o sintoma em Lacan, propõe-se que o fracasso escolar, necessário, não cessando de se escrever em seu caráter de repetição sintomática, é produzido, na atualidade, na hiância do espaço indecidível entre o impossível real e o encontro traumático – “um mau encontro” – com o campo do Outro da educação |
