| Spanish abstract | Se presentan los resultados referidos al concepto de política, las características atribuidas a esta categoría y el conocimiento de las funciones o rol de la política en personeros estudiantiles. Estos hacen parte de los hallazgos obtenidos en la investigación “Cogniciones sociales de la política en personeros estudiantiles de colegios oficiales de Villavicencio”. El estudio, en el que participaron estudiantes de bachillerato elegidos como personeros de catorce instituciones educativas públicas de esta ciudad, se realizó bajo una metodología cualitativa. Se utilizaron entrevistas en profundidad y grupos focales. Del análisis de contenido se infiere que emergen diversas concepciones de la política, algunas relacionadas con su ejercicio o con la participación. La dirigencia política o la administración de un país, a su vez, la encuentran dada a partir de una serie de normas y leyes, pero caracterizada por la centralización y mantenimiento del poder, la corrupción, el beneficio personal y la desigualdad social |
| English abstract | We present the results related to the concept of politics, the characteristics attributed to this category and knowledge of the functions or role of politics in students’ representatives. These are among the findings from the research “Social cognitions of politics in student representatives of official schools in Villavicencio”. The study, which involved high school students chosen as representatives of 14 public educational institutions of this city, was conducted under a qualitative methodology, using interviews and focus groups. Based on an analysis of contents, it can be inferred that different conceptions of politics emerge, some related to the exercise or participation, the political leadership or the administration of a country, in turn, are originated from one set of rules and laws, but characterized by centralization and maintenance of power, corruption, personal profit and social inequality |
