| English abstract | This paper searches to investigate what to extent the reading out loud stimulates the children’s interests to reading and to books. The research involved the observation of 13 sessions of reading undertaken with eight children from three to eight years old. The findings pointed out that this kind of reading was interesting for them. The reading, detached from the sense of obligations seems to make the reading as an entertainment and playing activity, that is, free of that compulsory feature which usually is present in the school. In this kind of activity, the reading becomes more pleasant. Understood in this way, this practice may be a very efficient way to develop the interest of the children in reading activities |
| Portuguese abstract | Resumo Este trabalho procurou investigar em que medida a prática da leitura em voz alta estimula o interesse das crianças pela leitura e o livro. A pesquisa envolveu a observação de treze sessões de leitura realizadas com oito crianças, na faixa etária entre três e dez anos de idade. Os resultados indicaram que a leitura em voz alta atraía as crianças. A leitura, quando desvinculada da obrigação, pode transformar-se em uma forma de divertimento e prazer. Notou-se que a leitura em voz alta, por ter sido apresentada como uma atividade lúdica, isto é, livre, sem o caráter obrigatório que, normalmente, ocupa na escola, foi capaz de provocar prazer nas crianças. Concebida dessa forma, essa prática de leitura pode ser muito eficiente para despertar o interesse e desenvolver nas crianças o gosto pela leitura |
