| Spanish abstract | En los últimos años la Universidad ha pasado de ser una institución que orientaba sus focos al estudio de los distintos fenómenos naturales y sociales a ser ella misma un foco de investigación. Este artículo muestra parte de los resultados obtenidos en una investigación sobre Los efectos de los cambios sociales en el trabajo y la vida profesional de los docentes universitarios. La historia de vida profesional, ha sido la estrategia para aproximarnos a los cambios vividos por docentes e investigadores. Del estudio y la comparación de las 24 historias de vida emergen un conjunto de temáticas vividas y signifi cadas de forma diferente por los distintos participantes. De su análisis, surge una cuestión que parece constituir una fuente de tensión y presión creciente para el profesorado que se siente impelido a desempeñar tres funciones muy diferentes: la enseñanza, la investigación y la gestión. Este texto expone y discute cómo los profesores enfrentan esta triple situación laboral en un contexto de trabajo que aumenta cada día el nivel de sus demandas |
| English abstract | During the last years the University has evolved from an institution which focused on the study of diff erent natural and social phenomena to becoming the focus of research. Th is paper shows part of the results of a research on the eff ects of social changes in the work and professional life of university teachers. Th e professional life history has been the strategy chosen to approach the changes in the lives of teachers and researchers. As a result of studying and comparing 24 life histories, there appears a group of diff erent topics which have diff erent meanings for the participants in this research. Th eir analyses show there is an increase in stress and pressure on teachers who are forced to carry out three completely diff erent activities: teaching, researching and having managerial positions. Th is text presents the situations teachers have to face in a working context which is becoming more and more demanding |
