Spanish abstract | Desde la caída de la Cortina de Hierro, el Ejército estadounidense ha estado realizando profundos cambios en sus planteamientos estratégicos, fundamentos doctrinales, medios materiales y estructuras organizativas con el fin de conquistar una revolución en los asuntos militares que prometía transformar el arte de la guerra, adaptarse al entorno estratégico de la inmediata posguerra fría, prepararse para hacer frente a unos inciertos retos futuros y, a fecha de hoy, satisfacer las carencias operativas derivadas de su participación en Afganistán e Irak. English abstract | Since the fall of the Berlin Wall, the U.S. Army has undertaken signifi cant changes in its military thought, strategic planning, doctrinal foundations, weapon systems and organizational structures in order to achieve the Revolution of Military Affairs that promised to change the art of war; to adapt its forces to the post-Cold War strategic environment; to face uncertain future challenges and, now, to overcome the operational requirements stemming from its involvement in Afghanistan and Iraq.
