| Spanish abstract | Este artículo presenta el estado del arte en cuanto al diseño y producción de robots para uso militar y doméstico, destacando las múltiples funciones que pueden realizar y los progresos que se han alcanzado en cuanto a autonomía en la toma de decisiones y su creciente capacidad para interactuar con los seres humanos. Si a lo anterior se suma la reducción de costos para fabricarlos y su consiguiente masifi cación, estaríamos en presencia de un gran desafío ético, ya que no tecnológico. En este contexto, se analiza el problema ético más que desde la perspectiva del ingeniero que diseña, desde el robot mismo. El autor se aboca a comentar la posibilidad de introducir en el diseño de estas máquinas algunos controles de tipo ético, de modo que nunca pueda traspasarlos y dañar a los seres humanos. Con tal propósito se explican algunos sistemas éticos y su factibilidad de aplicación en la robótica |
| English abstract | This article presents the state of the art in design and production of robots for military as well as domestic use, highlighting the multiple functions they can perform and the progress they have reached in terms of autonomy in decision making and the growing capability to interact with the human being. If we add to that, the cost reduction to make them and its massiveness thereafter, we would at the threshold of an enormous ethical challenge, no longer a technological one. In this context, the analysis of the ethical problem is focused more from the robot itself, rather than the prospective of the designer engineer. The author focuses to explain the possibility to introduce in these machines some ethical controls, in such a way that make impossible to the robot to break them and damage a human being. With that purpose in mind, some ethical systems as well as its applicability in robotics are explained |
