| Spanish abstract | Orestes Ferrara es miembro de una lista de hombres que integraron el cuerpo diplomático cubano en la primera mitad del siglo XX. Con una personalidad conservadora y a la vez irreverente, en él se conjugan la aventura y la política. El presente trabajo pretende evaluar su concepción de la diplomacia como arte de la negociación y el equilibrio de intereses, y a la vez contribuir a la reconstrucción histórica del cuerpo diplo-mático y consular cubano en el periodo neocolonial, temática de poca presencia en nuestra historiografía |
| English abstract | Orestes Ferrara is a member of a list of personalities who made up the Cuban diplomatic corps in the first half of the 20th century. A man where adventure and politics come together, in a conservative and at the same time irreverent personality. Therefore, this paper aims to evaluate his conception of diplomacy as an art of negotiation and balance of interests, and at the same time contribute to the historical reconstruction of the Cuban diplomatic and consular corps in the neocolonial period, a subject not sufficiently addressed by our historiography |
