| Spanish abstract | El objetivo del estudio fue evaluar el valor de importancia de las plantas comestibles (frutas y verduras) que se ofertan en el mercado "Revolución" de Izúcar de Matamoros, Puebla, México. El estudio se realizó con visitas al mercado donde se registraron las plantas comestibles y se contabilizó el número de puestos que conforman la estructura básica del mercado, asimismo, se registraron las especies comestibles que se comercializan en los locales durante el año. Estos datos fueron utilizados para estimar su valor de importancia relativa. Los datos registrados en entrevistas con los comerciantes fueron el nombre común, lugar de procedencia y manejo. Se contabilizaron en el mercado 253 puestos de frutas y verduras, donde se registraron 38 familias, 78 géneros y 101 especies, cinco variedades y tres subespecies. Las familias con mayor número de especies fueron Fabaceae, Rosaceae y Solanaceae. De las especies ofertadas en el mercado, 89 son cultivadas y muy pocas son de recolecta, toleradas o fomentadas. En su mayoría las especies ofertadas en el mercado provienen de la central de abastos de Puebla y de San Salvador Huixcolotla, así como de los Estados de México, Morelos, Oaxaca, Puebla y Veracruz. En relación con la importancia relativa, de los 187 etnotaxa identificados en el mercado, 104 frutos y 58 hortalizas integran el grupo (0.1-9.9%), siete frutos y 13 hortalizas el grupo (10-19.9%), un fruto y cinco hortalizas el grupo (20-29.9%), y solo la cebolla blanca el grupo (40-50%) |
| English abstract | The aim of the study was to evaluate the importance value of the edible plants (fruits and vegetables) that are offered in the "Revolution" market in Izúcar de Matamoros, Puebla, Mexico. The study was carried out with visits to the market where the edible plants were registered and the number of stalls that make up the basic structure of the market was counted, as well as the edible species that are commercialized in the premises during the year. These data were used to estimate its relative importance value. The data recorded in interviews with the merchants were the common name, place of origin and handling. In the market, 253 stalls of fruit and vegetable were listed, where 38 families, 78 genera and 101 species, five varieties and three subspecies were registered. The families with the highest number of species were Fabaceae, Rosaceae y Solanaceae. Of the species offered in the market, 89 are cultivated and very few are harvested, tolerated or promoted. Most of the species offered in the market come from the Puebla and San Salvador Huixcolotla supply centers, as well as the States of Mexico, Morelos, Oaxaca, Puebla and Veracruz.
