| Spanish abstract | L. B. Namier fue, y aun es hoy, uno de los intelectuales y referentes académicos más importantes en el mundo anglosajón. El hecho de que en el Diccionario de Oxford de la lengua inglesa se reconocieran entradas como “namierismo” y “namierizar”, nos da una muestra de la influencia y lo novedoso de su obra y de sus aportaciones a la historiografía. Pero lo cierto es que tan importante fue su obra para la historiografía anglosajona como desconocida es ésta en España. Por lo nuevo de sus aportaciones acerca de la historia de Inglaterra, de Europa y del nacionalismo, L. B. Namier se merecería también un reconocimiento en las universidades españolas. Efectivamente, si tomamos como ejemplo el desarrollo de la política española en el seno del Consejo europeo, el juego de alianzas de los que formaron parte de los gobiernos españoles de F. González y J. Mª Aznar, se puede mostrar como la afinidad personal, la amistad, los intereses privados y la psicología, también son elementos a tener en cuenta a la hora de analizar el por qué de las cosas, más incluso que las ideologías, tal y como L. B. Namier puso de manifiesto en su estudio del Parlamento británico en The structure of politics at the accesión of George III. Una obra tan importante, que aporta tantas novedades, que planteó una nueva explicación para toda la historia de Inglaterra durante el siglo XVIII |
| English abstract | L. B. Namier was, and even he´s today, one of the most important intellectual and relating academicians in the Anglo-Saxon world. The fact that in the Dictionary of Oxford of the English language income were recognized "namierism" or gives us a sample of the influence and the new of his work and of his contributions to the historiography. But the it´s certain that his work was so important for the Anglo- Saxon as unknown in Spain. For his new contributions it brings over to the history of England, of Europe and of the nationalism, L. B. Namier would need also a recognition at the Spanish universities. Really, if we take as an example the development of the Spanish policy in the European Council, the game of alliances of that the Spanish governments of F. Gonzalez and J. M ª Aznar formed, can appear as the personal affinity, the friendship, the private interests and the psychology, also they are elements to bearing in mind at the moment of analyzing why of the things, more even that the ideologies, as L. B. Namier George III revealed in his study of the British Parliament in The structure of polytics at the accession of. George III. Such an important work, which contributes so many innovations, which a new explanation raised for the whole history of England during the 18th century |
