| Spanish abstract | Este artículo se pregunta en qué consiste el buen obrar individual en la ética política de Maquiavelo. Para ello, se utilizan como ejemplo algunas secuencias de la película de Steven Splielberg Rescatando al soldado Ryan. Como se parte de que Maquiavelo no separa ética y política, sino ética clásica y ética política, se discute que el concepto del buen obrar individual propio de la ética clásica —aristotélico-ciceroniana y judeocristiana— sea el único modo posible de resolver ese problema. Se plantea por el contrario no sólo que hay otro modo de responder a esa cuestión, sino que además sería el adecuado a la lógica de la política. Del mismo modo, se busca mostrar que el criterio de ese buen obrar propio de la ética de Maquiavelo no se rige por el criterio de que el fin justifica los medios, como habitualmente se cree, sino por otro diferente de éste, según el cual males mayores evitan males menores. El buen obrar individual en la ética política estaría marcado entonces por un rasgo de conducta específico: la capacidad de subordinar la salvación del alma a la salvación de la ciudad |
| English abstract | This article’s objective is to find out what in what the good individual act in Machiavelli’s political ethics consists. To achive, they use some sequences of Steven Spielberg’s movie “Saving Private Ryan”. Since Machiavelli does not differentiate between ethics and politics other than in classic ethics and political ethics, the author discusses the concept of the good individual act which derives from the classical ethics —aristotelic-ciceronian and jewish-christian— is the only possible way to solve the problem. There is another way to answer that question, which also would be appropriate to the logic of politics. In the same way, attempts to show that good individual act of Machiavelli’s ethic was not at: the ends justify the means, as usually believed, but by the standard: avoid greater evils lesser evils. The good individual act in the political ethics would be marked by a specific trait of behavior: the ability to subordinate the salvation of the soul to the salvation of the city |
