| Spanish abstract | El presente ensayo intenta comparar dos aproximaciones del pensamiento contemporáneo a la figura del ángel, a saber, aquella de Henry Corbin y la de Walter Benjamin. Si bien ambos proyectos intentan trazar una crítica radical de la modernidad retomando la figura del ángel, pervive una diferencia central entre ambos: para Corbin se trata de articular una fenomenología de la conciencia angélica que reestablezca el equilibrio al interior de la propia estructura monoteísta, para Benjamin, en cambio, el ángel constituye la operación alegórica por antonomasia que abre la puerta para el ingreso del mesías, esto es, para la desactivación de toda posible angelología |
| English abstract | This essay compares two perspectives about the angel in contemporary thought, this is, one from Henry Corbin's works and the other from Walter Benjamin's. Both philosophical projects try to develop a radical critique of modernity using the angel's figure, but there is also an important difference between them: for Corbin it is very important to develop a phenomenology of the angelical consciousness that reestablishes the balance in the whole structure of monotheism; for Benjamin on the other hand, the angel is the allegorical function of antonomasia that may open the door for the messiah, which is, for the deconstruction of any possible angelology |
