English abstract | Dental caries is a multifactorial, infectious, transmissible and saccharose dependent disease. It's necessary the interaction between pathogenic microorganism and cariogenic diet in a host which present an adequate environment during certain period of time. It is intimately involved with the introduction of refined carbohydrates into the population diet, mainly the saccharose that is considered the most cariogenic disaccharide, being the most common sugar in the familiar diet in almost all the world. This research has been done which the aim of evaluate the sugar consumption in the children that are 7 to 10 years of age as much as evaluate the caries index and connect them. For that, using an indicator previously developed and tested in grown-up and childlike populations, the “Sweet Preference Inventory”, it was evaluated the preference for sugar among grape juice solutions sweetishes with saccharose in five differents concentrations: 0M (without sugar); 0.15M; 0.29M; 0.44M and 0.59M. In order to verify the dental condition regarding to carie disease it was used the DMFT and dmft index. Inside a group of 228 children, 51 participated of the sample and it had been found as average value of DMFT 1.94 and of dmft 3.02. The greater number of children (45%) had been preferred the grape juice with the elevated concentration of sugar, proving his high consumption. The statistics analyses of the obtained results confirmed that the preference of sweet food is connected to the major number of carious lesions |
