| English abstract | This research hás the purpose to rising DMFT Index in irradiated patients by anticancer therapy and not irradiated in the city of São Luís - MA / BR, besides verifying the xerostomia presence. Ninety-two patients were examined, 46 irradiated and 46 not irradiated, whose data on the xerostomia were obtained during the anmnese and DMFT index through the physical exam. The results were listed and analyzed, statistically, by the qui-square test (p =0.05). It was observed that 54.35% of the irradiated patients (group test) and 30.43% of the patients not irradiate (group control) do they have xerostomia, having significant difference to each other. The rising of the DMF index also showed significant difference among the groups, however, both groups the score extracted tooth was the most frequent. It is ended that the patients submitted to the anticancer radiotherapy they develop more xerostomia than the irradiated patients and that there are differences in the rising DMFT index among the same ones |
| Portuguese abstract | Esta pesquisa se propôs a fazer o levantamento do Índice CPOD em pacientes irradiados para terapia anticâncer e não irradiados na cidade de São Luís - MA / BR, além de verificar a presença de xerostomia. Foram examinados 92 pacientes, 46 irradiados e 46 não irradiados, cujos dados sobre a xerostomia foram obtidos durante a anamnese e o levantamento do Índice CPOD através do exame físico. Os resultados foram tabuados e analisados estatisticamente pelo Teste do Qui-quadrado (p=0,05). Observou-se que 54,35% dos pacientes irradiados (grupo teste) e 30,43% dos pacientes não irradiados (grupo controle) tinham xerostomia, havendo diferença significativa entre si. O levantamento do índice CPO-D também mostrou diferença significativa entre os grupos, no entanto, em ambos os grupos o escore dente extraído foi o mais freqüente. Concluise que os pacientes submetidos à radioterapia anticâncer desenvolvem mais xerostomia que os pacientes não irradiados e que há diferenças no levantamento CPO-D entre os mesmos |
