| Portuguese abstract | O objetivo deste estudo não tem a pretensão de uma exposição exaustiva, mas trazer uma reflexão que incentive o entendimento da literatura profética e, particularmente, do texto do Segundo Isaías (40-55). Quanto ao método, foram considerados os lugares a partir dos quais podemos compreender a mensagem do profeta, sua relação com Deus e com o povo de Israel: o lugar literário, histórico-social e teológico. Quem é Deus? Numa linguagem mítico-teológica, o profeta reinterpreta a tradição, fortalece a noção de Deus em relação aos ídolos pagãos e resgata, aos exilados da segunda geração na Babilônia, a esperança numa “nova criação”. |
| English abstract | This study, rather than being an exhaustive exposition, hopes to be a reflection that encourages deeper understanding of Second Isaiah (40-55). As for the method, we considered the places from which we can understand the prophet’s message, his relationship with God and the people of Israel, as well as the literary, historical-social and theological place. Who is God? To answer the question “who is God,”the prophet uses mythic-poetic language to reinterpret tradition, strengthens the notion of God in relation to pagan idols, and rescues hope in a “new creation” for the second generation in Babylonian exile. |
