| Spanish abstract | La relación entre teología negativa y teología positiva, abordada aquí desde el amor que contempla en silencio y reflexiona sobre lo contemplado, ha tenido durante la primera mitad del siglo XX una primavera que no ha acabado de abrirse al verano de un entendimiento pleno. El artículo vuelve sobre el tema y propone, en la primera parte, una crítica al método utilizado por los estudios académicos sobre la espiritualidad cristiana realizados durante el post-concilio Vaticano II, tanto en ámbito latino-europeo como anglófono. En la segunda parte se propone una renovada perspectiva para tratar el tema desde una aproximación interdisciplinar que toma inspiración de un nuevo campo de investigación, los estudios contemplativos (contemplative studies), que se apoya en la interrelación de métodos de investigación en primera y tercera persona. Esta perspectiva abre la posibilidad de incorporar en la reflexión académica las silenciosas experiencias contemplativas en primera persona, estableciendo las bases para un renovado diálogo entre teología positiva y negativa. |
| English abstract | SUMMARY The relationship between negative theology and positive theology approached here from the love that contemplates in silence and reflects on what is contemplated has had a springtime during the first half of the 20th century that has not yet opened up to the summer of a full understanding. The article returns to this theme and proposes, in the first part, a critique of the method used by academic studies on Christian spirituality carried out during the post-Vatican II Council, both in Latin-European and English-speaking countries. In its second part, a renewed perspective is proposed to deal with the subject from an interdisciplinary approach inspired by a new field of research, contemplative studies, which relies on the interrelation of first and third-person research methods. This perspective opens the possibility of incorporating silent first-person contemplative experiences into academic reflection, establishing the basis for a new dialogue between positive and negative theology. |
