| Spanish abstract | Las medidas tomadas por la Iglesia católica después del Concilio de Trento permearon muchas de las prácticas religiosas dentro de los territorios católicos y la oratoria sagrada no fue la excepción. En la España del siglo xvii la predicación de sermones fue uno de los medios más eficaces para el adoctrinamiento cultural. Esto disparó la publicación de tratados e instrucciones sobre cómo predicar y realizar misiones. La presencia de elementos teatrales fue una constate en dichos tratados e instrucciones, pero ¿cuáles eran los motivos que movían a los predicadores a hacer uso de dichos elementos? |
| English abstract | The measures taken by the Catholic Church after the Council of Trent permeated many of the religious practices within the Catholic territories and the sacred oratory was no exception. During the 17th century in Spain, the preaching of sermons was one of the most effective means of cultural indoctrination. This triggered the publication of treaties and instructions on how to preach and carry out missions. The presence of theatrical elements was a constant in those treaties and instructions, but which are the encouragements that stimulate preachers to use these elements? |
