| Spanish abstract | Este artículo analiza las dimensiones narrativas de Impuesto a la carne de Diamela Eltit. Escrita como la memoria de la nación fracasada en Chile, producto del autoritarismo que caracteriza su historia desde su emancipación, la novela deriva en un relato distópico que denuncia cómo el poder político hizo de aquella el motivo de su constitución. A esa nación “malparida” se la ha capturado y con ella se sigue experimentando; empero, esta nación en ruinas sigue gritando desde el interior de su reclusión. Eltit, con dicha novela, enfrenta el imaginario neoliberal que hizo olvidar las conquistas sociales, sobre todo las de mujeres chilenas |
| English abstract | This article analyzes the narrative dimensions of Diamela Eltit’s Impuesto a la carne. Written as the memory of a failed nation in Chile, product of the authoritarianism that characterized its history since its emancipation, the novel derives into dystopian tale that denounces how political power made it the reason for its establishment. This bad calved nation has captured and with it is still experiencing; however, this nation in ruins still screams from it inside detention. Eltit, with this novel, faces the neoliberal imaginary that made us forget the social conquests, especially of the Chilean women |
