Spanish abstract Return migration has been named as one of the causes behind the changeobserved since 2008 in the historical pattern of Mexico-US immigration(Passel, Cohn and González-Barrera, 2012). Many academicmeetings have been organized trying to understand its implications fortheoretical, empirical and policy studies. This special issue containssome of the research presented in meetings organized at UniversidadPopular Autónoma del Estado de Puebla (UPAEP) in 2017 and 2019.Because the different investigations presented at the two conferenceskeep a similar focus on migration and its ramifications into returnmigration, remittances and entrepreneurship, but presented multipleviews and methods from the Social Sciences and Humanities, abouttopics related to regional and sectorial studies, it was decided jointlyby the group of specialists that worked in these topics that a collectivework should be published in a peer reviewed journal that would allowus to present the work as close as it was planned. Paradigma Económicois the journal that allowed us to present our collective work as close as itwas originally presented in the conferences, at the same time that eachpaper went through a rigorous double blinded process. Because of this,we give special thanks to Leobardo de Jesús Almonte for its encouragementand support to go through all the lengthy process of editing a peerreviewed special number.
