Spanish abstract | Los servicios son los principales empleadores. En las ciudades este fenómeno es particularmente agudo. La transición hacia ciudades de servicios no ha sido sencilla, en términos de empleo, estuvo acompañada de polarización, precarización y segmentación laboral. Se ha insistido en la dualización del mercado de trabajo en ciudades terciarizadas donde los servicios avanzados presentan una mejor calidad del empleo. En este artículo se argumenta que no importa si son servicios avanzados o no, la calidad del empleo presenta claros signos de precarización. Entonces, más que mirar a los servicios como los generadores de desigualdad, habrá que buscar las explicaciones en el funcionamiento del mercado de trabajo |
English abstract | The services are the main providers. In the cities this phenomenon is particularly acute. The transition to service cities has not been easy, terms of employment, has been accompanied by polarization, precarization and labor segmentation. The dualization of the labor market in tertiary cities has been insisted on. In this article, it is argued that it does not matter if there are advanced services or not, the quality of employment shows signs of precarization. So, rather than looking at services as the generators of inequality, we will have to look for explanations in the functioning of the labor market |
