| Spanish abstract | La presente investigación tiene como objetivo principal determinar la cuantía del gasto en pensiones en jubilación a financiar por cotizante durante el periodo 2013-2025, tomando como variable de incidencia al factor demográfico para determinar si el Sistema de Pensiones de Ecuador es sostenible en el tiempo. En primera instancia se realiza una revisión de la Seguridad Social en un contexto mundial a lo largo de la historia, posterior a ello, se enfatiza el papel de la misma en Ecuador, de su sistema de pensiones, normativa (Ley de seguridad Social) y sus características. Se realiza una breve revisión conceptual y empírica sobre la demografía, posterior a ello se cuantifica el futuro del gasto en pensiones, utilizando para ello un modelo de proyección que considera el factor demográfico, la evolución del número de cotizantes y la evolución del número de pensionistas como factores relevantes que condicionan tanto la cobertura como la cuantía de las pensiones en Ecuador. Finalmente, se plantean las principales conclusiones obtenidas de la investigación, que servirán para comprender el gasto actual en pensiones en Ecuador y, sobre todo, ayudar a dilucidar lo que podría suceder con el mismo en un futuro |
| English abstract | The present investigation has as main objective to determine the amount of the retirement pension expenditure to be financed by payer during the period 2013-2025, taking as a variable incidence of the population factor to determine whether the Pension System of Ecuador is sustainable in the long term. In the first instance it is made a review of Social Security in a global context throughout history, later, it emphasizes the role of the same in Ecuador, of its pension system, Regulations (Social Security Act) and their characteristics. A brief conceptual and empirical review on demography, post this is used to quantify the future of pension expenditure, using for this purpose a projection model that considers the demographic factor, the evolution of the number of contributors and the evolution of the number of pensioners as relevant factors that determine both the coverage and the level of pensions in Ecuador. Finally, the main findings of the research, which will be used to understand current spending on pensions in Ecuador and, above all, help elucidate what might happen to the same in the future |
