| Spanish abstract | Esta investigación tiene como objetivo estimar los costos y márgenes de transportede carga terrestre nacional e internacional, así como también estimar el impacto de los costos estándar de transporte en el sector agrícola. Sobre la base del análisis de los procesos y de las principales variables que afectan al sector transporte, se obtuvieron los siguientes resultados y conclusiones: (1) El costo por km recorrido se estimó en US $2,01 siendo el combustible el componente más relevante en la estructura de costos, con un 84,2%. (2) El costo de transporte es una variable significativa en el sector agrícola, principalmente para el pequeño agricultor. (3) Considerando los resultados de la presente investigación, se estima que los costos transaccionales asociados a la búsqueda de información y negociación de contratos por volúmenes son relativamente altos en la industria del transporte |
| English abstract | This research pretends to show the cost estimates and contribution margins of national and international land freight transportation, as well as the estimation of the impact ofthe standard costs of transportation in the agricultural sector. Based on the analysis of the processes and of the principal variables that affect the transportation sector, the following conclusions were obtained: (1) The cost per kilometer covered was estimated at US$ 2,01; inthis cost structure, fuel is the most significant element (84,19 %), (2) The transportation cost is a significant variable in the agricultural sector, primarily for small farmers, (3) Finally, this research estimates that the transactional costs associated with information search and volume contract negotiation are relatively high in the transportation industry |
