| Spanish abstract | En este trabajo hacemos una reflexión acerca de las posibilidades que brinda el uso de la etnografía como herramienta para estudiar la práctica docente en educación superior. La materia prima de dicha reflexión es la experiencia de los autores de este artículo en el ejercicio de la etnografía en el campo educativo. En un contexto en el que es cuestionado el empleo de formas cuantitativas de evaluación de la práctica docente (Martínez-Rizo, 2012; Rockwell, 2013), parece necesario y útil conocer las características de una práctica de análisis etnográfico que incorpora el punto de vista cultural de los docentes de educación superior y que les brinda elementos tangibles para pensar sobre su trabajo y mejorarlo |
| English abstract | This works exposes a reflection on the possibilities offered through the use of ethnography as a tool for studying teaching practices in the higher education system. The raw material of this reflection is the experience of the authors of this article in the exercise of ethnography in the educational field. Within a context in which the use of quantitative modes of evaluating teaching is questioned (Martínez-Rizo, 2012; Rockwell, 2013), it only seems necessary and useful to become knowledgeable of the characteristics of a practice of ethnographic analysis incorporating the cultural point of view of teachers of higher education, which offer tangible elements to reflect on their work and on how to improve it |
