| Spanish abstract | La investigación tiene como objetivo demostrar la importancia que posee la di - mensión cultural en los procesos de integración y analizar la incidencia de esta dimensión en el MERCOSUR , especialmente tras el establecimiento del MERCOSUR Cultural, en 1995. El trabajo consta de tres partes. En la primera se define la integración cultural y se explica su influencia sobre los procesos de integración de lógica economicista como el MERCOSUR . En la segunda parte se analiza el patrimonio cultural común de los países miembros, para luego identificar las diferencias existentes, intentando de esta manera describir la consigna de Unidad en la Diversidad. Finalmente, se alude al proceso de institucionalización del MERCOSUR Cultural, su conformación, las reuniones especializadas, su mecanismo de funcionamiento y, fundamentalmente, sus avances y retrocesos desde su establecimiento hasta la actualidad |
| English abstract | The aim of this investigation is to show the importance of the cultural dimension on integrations processes and to analyze the incidence of this dimension on MERCOSUR process, especially since the foundation of MERCOSUR Cultural, in 1995. This study is organized in three seccions. The first one defines the concept of cultural integration and its influence on integration processes that have an economical logic, such as MERCOSUR . On the second part, the cultural inheritance of the member countries is analyzed with the aim of identifying the actual differences, so as to describe the concept of unity in diversity. Finally, the process that lead to institutionalize MERCOSUR Cultural is described, and also its specialized meetings, the way it works and, especially its progress and setbacks from its creation up to the present |
