| Spanish abstract | La progresiva feminización de las migraciones no se ha traducido en el aumento de la participación de las mujeres migrantes en las sociedades receptoras. Probablemente, esto se debe a las numerosas opresiones que reciben por su género, etnia y/o estatus. Este artículo explora, mediante la técnica Fotovoz (photovoice), la participación socio-política de mujeres negras africanas en el sur de España. Los resultados muestran las formas y espacios de dicha participación, sus facilitadores y limitaciones. Asimismo, indican que las metodologías participativas de investigación-acción comunitaria generan espacios inclusivos, en los cuales las migrantes pueden desarrollar conciencia crítica y redes, promoviendo así su participación y la construcción de una sociedad más justa y diversa |
| English abstract | The progressive feminization of migrations has not resulted in an increase in the social and political participation of migrant women in host societies. This low participation of migrant women is likely due to the numerous violence and oppressions they have undergone, both because of their gender, ethnicity, and status. This article explores, through the use of photovoice, the social and political participation of black African women in southern Spain. The results show the forms and spaces of such participation, and also its barriers and facilitators. Likewise, the results indicate how the community research-action methodologies generate inclusive spaces. Spaces where migrant women can develop critical consciousness and where networks can be created, thus promoting their participation and the construction of a more equal and diverse society |
