| English abstract | The aim of this article is to analyze child participation in India. Taking into con - sideration that the majority of Indian society is made of Hindus and Muslims, the author will indicate characteristics from both belief systems that are related to chil - dren. The next section will present directive principles of the Constitution that assist, or challenge, children ́s participation. | Portuguese abstract | O artigo visa analisar o tema da participação infantil na Índia. Tendo em vista que grande parcela da população indiana é formada por hindus e muçulmanos, os autores irão analisar as características de ambos os sistemas de crença, no que se refere às crianças. Em seguida, serão apresentados alguns condicionantes legais que possibilitam, ou dificultam, a maior participação das crianças em temas que afetam diretamente as suas vidas. Por fim, os autores irão problematizar como o sistema de crenças e a prática, ao serem influenciadas por condicionantes religiosos e pelos costumes, dificultam a participação das crianças |
