| Spanish abstract | La canción “No lo puedo desir desire” (NC 1856), de mediados del siglo xvi, adopta la forma básica del zéjel para recrear el fuerte anticlericalismo de la época y elaborar la crítica de un representante del clero —al parecer un monje— mediante la sátira. La evaluación negativa del clérigo se concentra en señalar las faltas en que incurre con su comportamiento. Este estudio identifica los mecanismos de construcción de la sátira y las referencias contextuales que permiten comprender su funcionamiento y elaborar algunas interpretaciones posibles |
| English abstract | The song “No lo puedo desir desire” (NC 1856), dating from the middle of the 16th century, takes the basic form of a zéjel to recreate the defiant anticlericalism of the age and to use satire to make fun of a representative of the Church, apparently a monk. The criticism of the cleric underlines the defects in his behavior. This analysis identifies the way in which the satire is constructed and the contextual references that allow us to understand the satire and formulate possible interpretations |
