| Spanish abstract | La construcción de alternativas de competitividad para la producción de orgánicos, en una zona como Xochimilco, es analizada en este artículo a través del ejemplo de una pequeña microempresa. La trayectoria de esta empresa cobra sentido obteniendo provecho de las nuevas interacciones entre la ciudad y las áreas rurales, y aprovechando el respaldo que le brindan las nuevas orientaciones de las políticas agrícolas y del medio ambiente. Por la otra, dispone del capital social, que le da el impulso emprendedor e innovador con el que cuentan y el estar inmerso en redes que le han permitido crecer y encontrar nuevas oportunidades en el mercado de los alimentos orgánicos y compartirlo con otros productores de la localidad |
| Portuguese abstract | The building of competitive alternatives in an area like Xochimilco, for the cultivation of organic products, is analyzed in this article through the example of a small microenterprise. This enterprise's experience makes sense when both the new interactions between the city and the rural areas, and the support offered by the new directions in agriculture and environmental policies, are considered. On the other hand, the enterprise has the social capital which gives it its innovating and enterprising impulse and which enables it to be engaged in networks that have helped it to grow and to find new opportunities within the organic foods market and to share this market with other producers in the area |
