| Spanish abstract | La compleja naturaleza de las estadísticas de género dificulta utilizarlas según la metodología tradicional. Los reportes oficiales de corte nacional e internacional adolecen de vacíos estadísticos singulares. Partiendo de esta referencia, el presente artículo se orienta a revisar la forma en que el trabajo doméstico y extradoméstico, protagonizado por las mujeres, puede integrarse en las estadísticas macroeconómicas. En particular se aborda el caso de Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua (México) para hacer el análisis. Específicamente la revisión se centra en detectar si los ejercicios cotidianos domésticos y extradomésticos contribuyen y bajo qué posibilidades al bienestar regional. Por último se exponen los Indicadores de Progreso Auténtico que constituyen un proyecto de reciente construcción con el que se busca revalorar el entorno sectorial de las localidades, incluyendo la esfera doméstica, de tal forma que el diseño de políticas públicas sea más acertado |
| English abstract | The complex nature of gender statistics makes difficult to use them according to traditional economics. When basing on the official reports of national and international organizations, such as the World Bank, the United Nations or the National Institute of Statistic of Mexico, we observed that their data presents singular statistical problems. Starting from this point of reference, the present article is oriented to review how the domestic and extradomestic work, carried out by the women, can be integrated in the macroeconomic statistics. In particular we analyze the case of Juarez City, Mexico. Specifically we focus on evaluating if domestic and extradomestic daily tasks contribute and, under what possibilities, to the well-being of the regional economies, supposing that the gender indicators entail dynamics that positively impact in the conditions of life of the inhabitants of certain territory. Finally, we emphasize that the so called Genuine and/or Authentic Progress Indicators (API/GPI) represent a project of recent creation that looks define the sectorial structure of a region in such a way that permits the design and right application of public policies |
