| Spanish abstract | Este trabajo se centra en la bibliografía sobre los clubes 4-S en Colombia, un tipo de club juvenil rural establecido en el país a mediados del siglo XX y cuyo propósito era convertir a los campesinos en agricultores, amas de casa, ciudadanos y líderes rurales; es decir, en actores adecuados para la modernización agrícola de la época. La historiografía colombiana poco se ha ocupado del tema, por lo que el artículo constituye un punto de partida para explorar uno de los fenómenos ligados a la historia de la juventud rural colombiana. La primera sección especifica cuáles eran los objetivos de los clubes 4-S. La segunda sección presenta bibliografía sobre el tema en Colombia y otros lugares para delinear rutas de investigación. Este balance historiográfico busca hacer una evaluación cualitativa de la información recuperada |
| English abstract | This paper is focused on the bibliography on the 4-S clubs in Colombia, a type of rural youth club established in the country in the mid-twentieth century and whose purpose was to turn peasants into farmers, housewives, citizens, and rural leaders, that is, into suitable actors for the agricultural modernization of the time. Since Colombian historiography has not dealt much with the subject, this article is a starting point to explore one of the phenomena linked to the history of rural Colombian youth. The first section specifies what the objectives of the 4-S clubs were. The second section presents bibliography on the subject in Colombia and elsewhere to outline research avenues. This historiographic balance seeks to make a qualitative evaluation of the information recovered |
