| English abstract | This article has as its main goal to investigate how designers can apply critical approaches of systems theory to the diagnosis of social groups. To do this, we first take a theoretical approach to pertinent subjects such as Design, Crafts, some theories of interpretive and critical systems, especially Critical Systems Heuristics. The following is a description of the case of a social project investigated in this paper, the Women's Network, offered by the secretary of Women and Family Affairs of Apucarana, in the state of Paraná. Thus, the data collection in the project is characterized and the relation of the information with the theories of critical systems. At the end of CSH implementation, three design inter-vention points were identified: (I) empowering artisans to pass on knowledge to expand and perpetuate the group; (II) review product prices and the marketing strategy about the origin of the products; and (III) a Service Design interven-tion to mitigate power inequalities |
| Portuguese abstract | Este artigo tem como premissa principal investigar como designers podem aplicar as abordagens críticas do pensamento de sistemas (systems thinking) para o diagnóstico de grupos sociais. Para isso, faz-se primeiramente uma abordagem teórica sobre assuntos pertinentes como Design, Artesanato e teorias de sistemas interpretati-vistas e críticos, e em especial da Critical Systems Heuristics (CSH). Depois, apresenta-se uma descrição do caso de projeto social investigado neste trabalho, o Rede de Mulheres, oferecido pela secretaria da Mulher e Assuntos da Família de Apucarana, no estado do Paraná. Então, caracteriza-se a coleta de dados no projeto e a relação das informações com as teorias de sistemas críticos. Ao final da aplicação da CSH, foram identificados três pon-tos para intervenção de design: (I) capacitação das artesãs para repassarem os conhecimentos a fim expandir e perpetuar o grupo; (II) rever os preços dos produtos e a estratégia de divulgação de procedência deles; e (III) intervenção do Design de Serviço no sistema a fim de mitigar desigualdades de poder |
