| Spanish abstract | El objetivo de este artículo es indagar en los mecanismos de fijación de los precios y salarios de la pañería murciana. Para ello analizaremos la forma en la que se determinan tanto la remuneración de las diversas operaciones que componen la extensa cadena productiva textil, así como el importe de los paños finalizados. Buscaremos demostrar que el concejo de la ciudad, lejos de tasar el trabajo y los productos artesanales de forma unilateral, tiende a perseguir el consenso de las corporaciones de oficio afectadas, aunque sin permitir abusos que deriven en un perjuicio para los habitantes de la ciudad. | English abstract | This paper aims to investigate the mechanisms of price and salary fixing of the Murcian cloth industry. In order to do so, we will analyze the way in which the remuneration of the different operations that make up the extensive textile production chain is determined, as well as the selling price of the finished cloths. We will try to demonstrate that the city council does not set prices and salaries unilaterally. On the contrary, the local government tends to pursue the consensus of the affected craft guilds, although without allowing abuses that derive in a damage for the inhabitants of the city. As we shall see, the regulation of the market promoted by the council authorities tries to balance the interests of consumers and local producers |
