| English abstract | This article aims to present a discussion on the issue of gesture, its “place” and its “nature”, within the scope of contemporary politics. Going through notions about gesture such as those of Giorgio Agamben and Georges Didi-Huberman, we start with the hypothesis that there would be an inexorable inseparability between gesture and politics: it is through the gesture, specifically for its possibility to bring together the ethical and aesthetic dimensions, that the forms of citizenship and resistance become a possible and effective exercise. In a context marked by the explosion of digital networks, in what extent that “place” and that “nature” are modified, since the physical body, source and first “form” of the gesture, suggests acquiring another kind of presence from those new technologies? This means asking: would we be faced with a new gesture, and therefore with new possibilities of exercise of politics itself? |
| Portuguese abstract | Este artigo pretende apresentar uma discussão sobre a questão do gesto, seu “lugar” e sua “natureza”, no âmbito da política contemporânea. Atravessando concepções sobre o gesto, como as de Giorgio Agamben e Georges Didi-Huberman, partimos da hipótese segundo a qual haveria uma inexorável indissociabilidade entre gesto e política: é pelo gesto, especificamente por sua possibilidade de reunir as dimensões ética e estética, que as formas de cidadania e resistência se tornam um exercício possível e efetivo. Num contexto marcado pela explosão das redes digitais, em que medida se alteram esse “lugar” e essa sua “natureza”, já que o corpo físico, fonte e “forma” primeira do gesto, sugere adquirir uma espécie outra de presença a partir dessas novas tecnologias? Isso significa perguntar: estaríamos diante de uma nova gestualidade, e, por conseguinte, de novas possibilidades de exercício da própria política? |
