| Spanish abstract | La religión, en cualquiera de sus manifestaciones, ya sea primitiva o de elaborada complejidad, se refiere al sistema de comunicación que el hombre ha creado entre él y las divinidades. La poesía religiosa testimonia la relación hombre-Dios ya sea de forma celebratoria, de oración, de plegaria o de alabanza. En este trabajo se ofrece una visión panorámica de la poesía católica en México durante el periodo colonial, así como en los siglos XIX y XX, y se estudia el significado del ejercicio poético espiritual de los poetas que incursionaron, unos, desde la obligatoriedad cultural impuesta por la Iglesia, y otros en los que el poema religioso se convierte en auténtico puente entre el poeta y Dios |
| English abstract | Religion, in whichever of its manifestations, be it primitive or complexly elaborated, refers to the system of communication which man has created between himself and the divinities. Religious poetry testifies to the human-God relationship be it of a celebratory form, prayer, petitioning, or praise. In this work a panoramic vision is offered of Catholic poetry in Mexico during the colonial period, as well as in the 19th and 20th centuries, and also studies the meaning of the spiritual poetical exercise of poets, some of whom began from the cultural obligations imposed by the Church, and others in whom the religious poem becomes an authentic bridge between the poet and God |
