| English abstract | The Mexican writer Rosario Castellanos reveals in her narrative her personal experience in the machismo of the mid-twentieth century in Mexico. In some of the stories, it is noted depth, intensity and descriptive thoroughness in the construction of the spaces. Thus, an approximation is made to the category of space in Los convidados de agosto , a tale of the book of the same name published in 1964, based on custom, eroticism and rumor, features present in the text and that have been little reviewed by literary studies. |
| Spanish abstract | La escritora mexicana Rosario Castellanos revela en su narrativa corta su experiencia personal frente al machismo de mediados del siglo xx en México. En algunos de los relatos, se nota en la construcción de los espacios profundidad, intensidad y minuciosidad descriptiva. Así, se hace una aproximación a la categoría de espacio en el cuento «Los convidados de agosto», del libro homónimo publicado en 1964, a partir de la costumbre, el erotismo y el rumor, características presentes en el texto y que han sido poco revisadas por los estudios literarios. |
