| Spanish abstract | Este estudio traza un recorrido por las diferentes aproximaciones críticas que se han realizado sobre las escrituras en primera persona a lo largo de los últimos sesenta años. Partiendo del término «autobiografía», entendido aquí en su sentido más amplio y no como etiqueta de un género literario concreto, analizaremos cómo los escritos autobiográficos han sido objeto de estudio de campos tan diversos como la historia, la antropología o la literatura. La confrontación de las teorías más relevantes en estos campos permite concluir que los aspectos más controvertidos suscitados por este choque interdisciplinar se remiten a una cuestión de prioridad metodológica entre el estudio formal o funcional de las literaturas del yo |
| English abstract | This study sets out to map the distinct approximations that have been developed on first person narratives over the last sixty years. We shall employ the term «autobiography» in its broadest sense, and not as a specific genre. In this respect, we shall evidence how autobiographical narratives have been the focus of diverse fields of interest such as history, anthropology, and literature. The confrontation between the most relevant theories on the autobiographical genre leads us to conclude that the most controversial elements found in the disagreements established between these theories have their base on methodological questions that centre on questions of the form and function of these first person narratives |
