| Spanish abstract | El presente artículo es un análisis del estado del arte que a finales del siglo XX y en el presente siglo guarda el tema de la antropofagia entre los indígenas de la época de la conquista. Apoyado en una bibliografía selecta, por lo actualizada, se discute en particular la obra de Luis Pancorbo titulada El banquete humano, porque representa la continuación de interpretaciones coloniales sobre el tema en cuestión, a la vez que niega la antropofagia en el mundo europeo. En nuestro caso, partimos de la tesis de que la antropofagia de los indígenas debe explicarse a la luz de cuestiones culturales y no como hace Pancorbo, que la concibe como producto de la necesidad de proteína animal |
| English abstract | The present article is an analysis of the state of the art that keeps the theme of anthropophagy among Native Americans at the end of the 20th century and in the present century. Supported in a selected bibliography, for the updated, it is been discussed Luis Pancorbo's “El banquete humano” because it represents the continuation of colonial interpretations on the subject in question, while denying anthropophagy in the European world. In our case, we start from the thesis that the anthropophagy of the natives must be explained in the light of cultural issues and not as Pancorbo does, who conceives it as a product of the need for animal protein |
