| English abstract | Indigenous oral narratives are oft en classifi ed as legends, a minor genre of literature or as myths, they do not deserve credibility as sources stories. Oft en, they are also understood only as a manifestation of the spoken word in a homogeneous perspective of language and not as a complex process of verbal communication, which may involve gestures, painting, voice, music. In 2010, during realization of the project Children SuruiAikewára: between tradition and new technologies in school, we produced three books and four movies from the oral narratives of this indigenous society. In this article, based on the defi nition of social interaction, we analyze some results of this project, the didactic possibilities of indigenous oral narratives and their historical transformations |
| Portuguese abstract | As narrativas orais indígenas muitas vezes são classifi cadas como lendas, um gênero menor da literatura, ou como mitos, que não merecem credibilidade como fontes histórias. Frequentemente, também são entendidas apenas como uma manifestação da palavra falada numa perspectiva homogênea de língua e não como um complexo processo de comunicação verbal, que pode envolver os gestos, a pintura, a voz, a música. Em 2010, durante a realização do projeto Crianças Suruí-Aikewára: entre a tradição e as novas tecnologias na escola, foram produzidos três livros e quatro fi lmes a partir das narrativas orais desta sociedade indígena.
