| Spanish abstract | Durante mucho tiempo se ha pensado que la Homeopatía es capaz de generar una curación que trascienda las generaciones, y por varias décadas se tuvo la esperanza de que la genética fuera la encargada de dar una respuesta a tal suposición. A medida que se ha ampliado el conocimiento sobre el modelo de la doble hélice, se ha hecho evidente que las posibilidades de que dicha estructura formada por ADN sufra una modificación es muy reducida, de modo que basar el fenómeno de la curación trascendente por medio de la Homeopatía a través de este modelo parecía imposible. La epigenética ha transformado este panorama en el sentido de que hace posible una explicación sobre la posibilidad de realizar cambios en la estructura del individuo, así como en su funcionamiento, sin que necesariamente se modifique la doble hélice. En este artículo se exponen las bases del funcionamiento de la molécula de ADN y algunas de las teorías que comienzan a explicar el fenómeno epigenético. | English abstract | Long time ago the homeopathic community has thought that Homeopathy is able to generate a healing that transcends generations, and for decades it was hoped that genetics was the responsible in giving an answer to such an assumption. As the knowledge has been extended in the model of the double helix, it has become apparent that the possibilities that this structure formed by DNA can suffer a change in it structure are very remote, so to explain the phenomenon of transcendent healing through Homeopathy by this model seemed impossible. Epigenetics has transformed this scenario in the sense that it makes possible an explanation of the possibility of changes in the structure of the individual as well as in performance, without necessarily modifying the double helix. This article presents the foundations for the functioning of the DNA molecule and some of the mechanisms that are beginning to explain the epigenetic phenomenon.
