| English abstract | The term ‘magic realism’ was created in Europe, but it was adopted by Latin American writers and critics and they used it to characterize their own literature. American culture was born with the Con - quest of America’s documents, when miracle deeply came into its artistic code and defined a specific way of perceiving reality. This stylistic resource was lately revealed in a period of cultural maturity, when writers from new Latin American novel turned to those sources in search of their own roots |
