| English abstract | This article attempts to expose a different reading of that traditional regarding of female participation in poliade society. Therefore the figure of Penelope, essential character of the homeric work Odyssey , will be analyzed and will serve as an example of citizen wife of the Greek polis . According to the survey, the weave, containing an etymological link with the word “text” appears as a possibility of the feminine word, an amplification of the voice of women in anti quity as well as a form of foreign participation in the domestic sphere - environment to which these are usually linked. What often makes the keynote speech unnoticed are some indirect relations, and by no means inexistent, of integration; there is an inte rweaving between polis and oikos , the public space not only opposes to the private, but this is integrated into the public domain or the polis . T he figure of the woman weaver is therefore invoked as a form of representation more active of the females, link ed the image of the spider - the way it was described by Aristotle - the jarring combination that prevails throughout the Greek documentation between the woman and the Bee |
| Portuguese abstract | O presente artigo intenta expor uma leitura diferenciada daquela tradicional em relação à participação feminina na sociedade políade . Para tanto, a figura de Penélope, personagem essencial da obra homérica Odisseia , será analisada e servirá como exemplo de esposa cidadã da pólis grega. De acordo com a pesquisa feita, o tecer, que contém um vínculo etimológico com a palavra “texto”, aparece, como uma possibilidade de pala vra feminina, uma amplificação da voz das mulheres na antiguidade, assim como, uma forma de participação exterior ao âmbito doméstico – ambiente a que essas são usualmente ligadas. O que muitas vezes faz passar o discurso despercebido são algumas relações indiretas e, nem por isso inexistentes, de integração; há um entrelaçamento entre a pólis e o oikos , o espaço público não apenas se opõe ao privado, mas este é integrado ao domínio público, ou seja, a pólis . A figura da mulher tecelã é portanto invocada co mo uma forma de representação mais ativa do feminino, atrelada a imagem da aranha - da forma que foi descrita por Aristóteles - , destoante da associação que predomina em toda a documentação grega entre a mulher e a abelha |
