| English abstract | The present article intends to analyze the true sense of philosophy for Leo Strauss, as the condition of possibility for going beyond the opinion, achieving the true knowledge. Thus, philosophy aims to respond to the fundamental questions of the human being, situating the human individual objects in relation with the whole, that is the nature. One of the forms to answer these fundamental questions is the natural right, that, as a goal, must substantiate the Law and the conventional institutions of the society |
| Portuguese abstract | O presente artigo se presta a analisar o verdadeiro sentido de filosofia para Leo Strauss, como a condição de possibilidade de ir além da opinião, alçando o verdadeiro conhecimento. Sendo assim, ela visa responder às questões fundamentais do ser humano, colocando os objetos humanos individuais em relação ao todo, que é a natureza. Uma das formas de responder às questões fundamentais é o direito natural, que, como meta, deve fundamentar as leis e instituições convencionadas na sociedade |
