| English abstract | This article tries to articulate the Rousseau’s not ion of subjectivity describing its basic motivations – self-preservation and pity – and its cognitive faculties (sensation, perception, imagination, memory and reason), focusi ng the analysis of the first part on the categories of desire and habit , which together constitutes the passions of the singular subject. Our author’s approach start by de scribing the essential constitution of individual human being and sets his actions by its basic motivations, that looks to satisfy his necessities. On the second moment is ra ised the question of otherness, showing the conditions that enable its emergence, a nd those that prevent it. The primacy of the self and the understanding of the suffering through the natural capacity of the pity , together with the capacity of imaginary transport , are presented on one side; on the other is approached the self love ( amour prope ) and the play of the relative I , causing alienation and the lost of the immediate self-relat ion, disabling otherness. To finish, is approached the question of the limits of otherness in Rousseau’s though and is questioned if the primacy of the self is a problem that limits otherness or not |
| Portuguese abstract | Este artigo busca articular a noção de subjetividad e de Rousseau descrevendo suas duas motivações básicas – autopreservação e pi edade – e suas faculdades cognitivas (sensação, percepção, imaginação, memóri a e razão), focando a análise da primeira parte na categoria de desejo e de hábito , que em conjunto formam as paixões do indivíduo singular. A abordagem do nosso autor p rincipia por descrever a constituição essencial do indivíduo humano e define sua ação por suas motivações básicas, que visam saciar suas necessidades. No seg undo momento é posta a questão da alteridade, mostrando as condições que possibilitam seu surgimento, e quais a impossibilitam. A anterioridade do si e a compreensão do sofrimento através da capacidade natural da piedade , aliados à capacidade do transporte imaginário, apar ecem de um lado; do outro o amor-próprio e o jogo do eu relativo , gerando a alienação e a perda da autorrelação imediata, impossibilitando a alteridade. Reflete-se, por fim, sobre a questão dos limites da alteridade no pensamento d e Rousseau e se a anterioridade e primazia do si é um problema que lhe limita ou não |
